Deerbrook Women Ministries provides a variety of opportunities for women ranging from yearly weekend conferences, Bible studies and one-on-one mentoring programs. We are excited about our monthly IF:Table gatherings, where women share a meal and share their stories.
[Combating isolation, apathy & hunger one fun event at a time.]
Our connections for men come in a variety of ways including meals together, work projects, Royals games, mountain hikes and small groups studies. The goal of our programs for men is to equip them for life. Several small group Bible studies of men meet regularly (Fri AM) for sermon/podcast discussion and support for one another. We have a history of using the Authentic Manhood and Men of Impact series (see below).
Email Mark Wissel for information about meeting times, etc.
Some of our past Men’s Ministry Events have included tailgates, paintball, Royals games, and golf events.
The Quest for Authentic Manhood is the foundation or ground floor of manhood. This 24-session study focuses on a man's core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. It will help men deal with various identity issues by looking back at past wounds and other things that may have distorted their idea of biblical masculinity. Throughout the course of the study, men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, "What is a man?" and "What am I living to be?"
This course is suitable for the new believer, the not-yet believer, or the maturing believer.
This captivating journey helps men:
• Resolve wounds from their past
• Embrace a biblical definition of manhood
• Develop their own personal manhood plan
Men of Impact Series
If you are a man who wants to know what is means to be a maturing Christian or isn’t sure how to take the next step towards that goal, this course may be just what you need. This course is designed to provide men of Deerbrook the opportunity to become lifelong, maturing apprentices of Christ by practicing three critical pursuits; knowing Christ deeply, reflecting Christ authentically, and sharing Christ intentionally.
Men who are part of this series meet weekly in small group Forums of 3-4 men. Each Forum establishes their own time and location.
First Wednesday Suppers: The first Wednesday of each month from fall to spring, our entire body is invited as we share in supper at 5:45 pm.
Our congregation is challenged to BLESS their neighborhoods reaching their neighbors. We are encouraged to begin with prayer, listen with car, eat together, serve with love and share the good news.
Parenting Circles: We are beginning a new group for parents (June 2019) who want to encourage one another and learn from each other. Parents or Grandparents of children of any age are invited to join us. Email Joyce if you’d like more information.
