LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
Deerbrook is involved in serving our community by sharing the love of God in many ways often sharing our building. Here is a list of our ongoing partnerships.
Coldwater
Coldwater is a food pantry and clothes closet located in Lee’s Summit that has year long programs to help provide food and basic needs to those in need in our community. Deerbrook is deeply involved with friends Saturday meals, the Clothes closet and with the Summer lunch program.

Community Garden
The "Garden of Eatin'" is one way we use our "backyard". It is planted, weeded, watered and harvested by volunteers. Fruit trees, which were planted in 2013, will provide fresh apples and pears in years to come. Produce from the garden is available for non-profits and others. More than 1,000 pounds of produce was produced in each of the last two years.
Garden beds and 20 fruit trees are dedicated to meet the needs of our community.
LANGSFORD HOUSE
Langsford House is one of 42 schools in the Missouri Division Of Youth Services School District. It is a alternate school that serves 10-13 boys in grades 5-12. We serve the boys in various ways, including serving on the board, tutoring, providing holiday meals, parties and meeting their physical needs etc.
WHEELS TO FREEDOM
Wheels to Freedom is another one of our ministry non-profits that is part of a global outreach program overseen by members of our congregation. Wheels to Freedom collects used wheelchairs from all over Missouri that are rehabilitated and distributed to individuals in third-world countries by Hope Haven, Intl.

YOUNG LIFE CAPERNUAM
100’s of chairs are discarded by U.S. patients, collected and re-distributed to 3rd World countries every few months.
WINGS 4 WATER
Wings4Water is an annual BBQ wings contest in Lee’s Summit. This fine gathering on the first Thursday of the NFL season serves wings to thousands of people, and has raised over a hundred thousands of dollars for clean water projects around the world. Deerbrook has been involved since the very first year.
Capernaum is an extension of Young Life student ministry that reaches out to special needs students and families. Young Life gently points students to Jesus through caring relationships. Young Life Capernaum meets here on site monthly.
